Pampered Pets Day Camp

Why Day Camp?

Dog Day Camp in Charlottesville VA

Dogs who receive adequate physical and social activity are more content emotionally and much less likely to develop behavior problems. Dogs are by nature very social and given the opportunity, many enjoy interaction with others.

We all love our four-legged companions but in our day to day rush, we sometimes fall short in providing for their important physical and social needs. If your dog enjoys the company of other dogs but you can’t provide sufficient playtime, then Day Camp may be your solution!

We want to ensure that the dogs in our Day Camp are suited for group play, remain safe and benefit from their experience. That is why we have created a thorough enrollment and evaluation process. Depending on personality, behavior and social experience, some dogs may not be appropriate in a group play environment.

  • We provide midday naps in individual areas to all campers. This is a much needed rest period so your dog does not become over-stimulated. During this time, we serve lunches and provide Sammy Snacks. Your dog will be able to have a snack, take a break and be ready for afternoon play again!

Day Camp Daily Schedule

Dog Day Camp in Charlottesville

Our Day Camp will have different groups based on size, personality and play style. When your dog arrives, he will be introduced to his play group and the fun begins! The dogs will have climbing toys to romp on, cots to relax on, plenty of individual attention from our Camp Counselors and tons of play with their camp mates!

The groups will be rotated frequently throughout the day from our outdoor to indoor areas. This will ensure everyone gets fresh air and sunshine, will encourage elimination outdoors and offer everyone a change of view. Lunches, snacks and naps will be given from 12:00 – 1:00pm and then back to the play groups we go!

Admission Requirements

To ensure the health and safety of your dog and other campers, Pampered Pets requires the following:

Age Limit:
Dogs must be four months or older to participate in Day Camp. For puppies less than four months old we will be offering a puppy socialization program soon! Keep watch! If you need socialization now, ask us who we can reccomend.

Health:
Owners must certify that their dog is in good health and has not been ill with a communicable condition within the last 15 days. Any dogs who have been ill within that time, will require a veterinarian certification of restored health prior to admission (or readmission).

Vaccinations:
All dogs are required to be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella. Dogs must also have had a negative fecal test in the last six months and be on flea and tick preventative (natural alternatives are accepted).

Spaying/Neutering:
To eliminate any unnecessary behavior issues that could occur with an unaltered dog in a group environment, all dogs over the age of six months must be spayed/neutered to attend day camp.

Day Camp Evaluations

All dogs will be evaluated prior to admission to ensure that they are suited for the day camp environment. While some dogs thrive in this atmosphere, others can find it very stressful.
