Join us at the Pampered Pets Training Center in downtown Charlottesville for Happy Tails: Dog Safety and Education Day on Saturday, March 19th from 2 to 5PM. This educational event will feature pet emergency preparedness information from the Albemarle Office of Emergency Management, a training session on pet first aid essentials and a workshop for kids on dog bite prevention. There will also be an opportunity to meet and learn more about Charlottesville’s working dogs with special demonstrations from Albemarle County’s bomb detection dog and the City of Charlottesville’s arson investigation dog. Certified therapy pets will also be there to meet and greet guests. Activities will be FREE and suitable for all ages. Please see the schedule for details.

Learn more about our instructors:
Valerie Balwanz is the Training and Behavior Manager for Pampered Pets. She is a Pat Miller Certified Trainer (PMCT) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA).
Kaicee Robertson is the Guest Services Manager at Pampered Pets. She is currently working towards her PMCT and CPDT certification and has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida.
Mary Phillips is a CPDT and a PetSaver™ instructor certified to teach pet owners basic pet first aid, and CPR.
